HOW TO EXPLAIN THE BRILLIANCE THAT IS GLEE GOES SOLO?
Easy... it's your safe space to 🌟SHINE🌟!
1. Do you recall the moment you decided to sign up for Glee?
2. Do you remember the trepidation of walking in the room that very first time?
3. Did you know that you're now a bit of a bad ass walking in that door every single week? 🙌
Glee Goes Solo is your next door to walk through.
You've already done the scariest part in starting your Glee journey, now you can take it to the next level – singing with your fellow Gleeks – supported by a live band – having the night of your life!
If you're ready. No pressure. We know it sounds scary, but it's powerful and joyous, and the best rush of adrenalin and endorphins, through singing live on stage with a band.
WHAT IS GLEE GOES SOLO?
Glee Goes Solo is a one-night-only gig, at a live music venue, with a proper band. It's a performance opportunity for those who would like to have a taste of being a rock star for a night. We choose the songs, the bands learns our tracks, we rehearse, and then put on a kick ass show. Tickets go on sale for our friends and family to join us. The bar and kitchen are open so the audience can really make a night out of it.
There will be two sets of songs, performed by Gleeks from across all our NSW chapters, this year incorporating songs by bands and groups. We cheer each other on, lift each other up, in a supported, safe and off-the-charts fun environment.
Note: For those who have performed in previous years, we're doing things a little differently in 2023 to make sure as many people as possible get to perform. Read more below in the registration instructions – it's going to be amazing!

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER JOINING?
Short answer: every Glee Club member! 😉
Longer answer: Any Gleek who wants to tick 'singing live with a band' off their bucket list and take the next step in their musical journey.
It's like taking a Glee Extension unit, where the pressure is a bit more intense, but the pay off is really worth it. Glee Goes Solo helps you develop your stage skills, lean into your musicianship, and obtain an incredible sense of achievement. And to be honest – it is just SO MUCH FUN!
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BEING PART OF THIS PROJECT?
Being a part of Glee Goes Solo improves your confidence in regular Glee rehearsals and performances, helps you learn to harness any nerves, and is a wonderful way to get to know your fellow singers through a richer experience. It's also a perfect way to share your passion with family and friends*.
We understand this sounds daunting, so here is what two of our Glee Goes Solo virgins had to say about their debut in 2022.
"I was terrified and excited at the same time, a huge buzz and an amazing way to feel the love in a room full of Glee people." Andrew
“Glee Goes Solo was so wonderful to have a safe space to express ourselves and perform for those we hold most dear! And a great way to bond and make friendships ❤️❤️.” Taylor
And from one our seasoned performers:
"If you haven't performed at Glee Goes Solo yet – jump in and do it! If you don't, after you've watched everyone else, you'll regret you didn't and it's a long 12 months until the next one! You will never get a better opportunity to sing with a live band in front of the most supportive audience, make that, the most supportive group of friends!" Darren
*Highly recommended for the tall people who are always in the back row. This time everyone will get to see and hear you be a super star. 🤘
